Moving & Relocation

Moving is Part of the Adventure of Military Service: This is a great place to start planning your move. Look for resources provided by the Navy's Relocation program, the Fleet and Family Support Center's Relocation Assistance Program (RAP), the Navy Housing Center (HSC), and Military OneSource.

Naval Services Family Line

Naval Service FamilyLine (NS FamilyLine) offers the inside scoop on preparing for and executing moves with helpful explanations of how this work from a spouse's perspective. A special section on moving with kids is included.

Navy Housing Program

The Navy Housing Program provides housing related services in support of the Navy's mission and readiness. Navy Housing Service Centers (HSCs), located on most installations, are responsible for assisting customers in finding different types of housing to include privatized, government-owned, government-leased, community, or rental partnership program housing.

Request A Sponsor

When your Sailor receives orders to transfer to a new duty station, they can request a command sponsor to help your family through their transition to a new command. If your Sailor requests a sponsor, they should be contacted within 10 days of receiving their orders. If this does not occur, the Sponsor Program Coordinator contact information can be found within your Sailor’s orders.

Spouse Licensure/Business Cost Reimbursement

As part of the ongoing Navy Family Framework effort to expand and improve the experience for Navy spouses and families, Sailors may be reimbursed up to $2,000 (combined total) for the state licensure/certification costs and business costs of a spouse arising from relocation to another state or jurisdiction due to a permanent change of station (PCS) move.
